What happens in a counseling session?
In Individual therapy, a psychosocial assessment is completed. This includes presenting problems, the history and duration of the problems, medical diagnoses, medications, a mental status assessment, and any pertinent personal history. Upon completion, goals of therapy and a treatment plan are made.
